35th ANNUAL CABLE AIR SHOW—JANUARY 9-10, 2010 |
Leaving trails of red, white and blue, aerobatic pilot Julie Clark will be enchanting participants
of the 35th Cable Air Show. Flying her Chevron Mentor T-34, “Free Spirit,”
Julie will perform “Serenade in Red, White and Blue,” to the music of Lee Greenwood’s
“God Bless the USA.”
2010 marks Julie’s 31 years of solo aerobatic air show flying and over 30,000 accident-free hours in the air. She has been a pilot for more than 39 years, retired from Northwest Airlines as a Captain, and is rated in more than 66 types of aircraft. In 2002 she was inducted into the Women in Aviation Pioneer Hall of Fame of Women in Aviation, International.
We thank Hank Kras and Chevron Global Aviation/Air Petro for arranging for her to be
here.
Julie’s passion for flying started as a young girl. As she scraped together anything she could to build flight time,
she finally was hired by Golden West Airlines—the first and only woman to be hired by them at the time. In 1977,
Julie was hired by Hughes Air West (which eventually merged with Northwest Airlines) and became one of the first
women to fly for a major airline.
