A Flying Bathtub, Wingiel, Waco and Whitman Tailwind. A Tiger Moth, T-6, Staggerwing, Antonov, and Stinson. Three Porterfields, a Stearman, two Taylorcrafts, a Husky, two Kitfoxes, three RVs, Fairchild, numerous Cubs and one Cessna 150. What was going on at the southwest ramp??
The 1st Annual Taildragger Fly-In! Cableites and visitors came from all over the valley to share tailwheel camaraderie and enjoy some tasty brisket BBQ prepared by Maniac Mikes “Shot Low”. It was a hot day, but a chair with a cold drink in the hangar shade was a cool place to sit and enjoy the runway activities.
Dave Anders and his Flying Bathtub left early afternoon for home (Rialto) - a 40 minute flight!! Departing planes treated all to numerous fly-bys.
In the cool of the evening, Roland Furman’s Orchestra struck up the band with some foot-stompin’ 40’s big band sounds. Rosie LaForge crooned a couple of tunes while Bob Cable—complete in Zoot Suit, cut up the dance floor. Cool moves Bob!!

It was a great day—just what Mike Polley wanted for his 50th birthday!!! Happy Birthday Mike!!!
