Jon Nash

Jon Nash brings remarkable skill and excitement to the world of airshow performance. A lifetime flyer, his accomplishments in the demanding arena of aerobatic competition guarantee a show of unparalleled precision and excitement--crisp lines, slow flight virtuosity and amazing tumbles.

Jon Nash's father started to teach him to fly in Illinois when Jon was 11. He soloed a glider at 14, but had to wait more than two years after mastering the necessary skills before reaching the legal age for power solo. His interest has always been in sport aviation, and it was natural for Jon to remain an active glider pilot after earning his power certificate.

During the early years aerobatics remained a dream: Jon had to wait more than a decade before forming an association with Michael Church at Sunrise Aviation to shape the reality of championship aerobatic performance.

Competing primarily in a Pitts S2B and Extra 300, Jon medaled five times in the demanding California Championship Series from 1997 to the present, first in the Sportsman Category, then Advanced, then in Unlimited. Along the way, he earned his flight instructor certificate and a place on the Sunrise staff as an active aerobatic instructor

Today, flying the Edge 540, Jon brings unequaled concentration and skill to the extreme arena of airshow performance. His continuing mastery of aerobatic competition delivers crisp and accurate lines, coupled with slow flight virtuosity and amazing high speed tumbles. His signature maneuvers include knife edge spins, tumbles to a torque roll and multiple "endos."
